The Rules of the Game 5th Chapter

Significance

This chapter is important because it teaches a lesson about Waverly Jong and how she was so good at chess and how she used someof the strategies to help her when "he was playing chess with her mother". Well I know that Waverly used the strategies she played in real chess with her mother but, she still didn't win.

Perspective

If I wrote this particular chapter I would want the reader to walk away with the concepts of when you learn something in life like a particular game or something don't just think of it as just a game or just a airy tale think of it as a deeper concept or lesson that you can use in everyday life. Another way I could look at this concept is like sometimes thinjgs happen in life that are just coincident and when they do use the strategies you learned in some other incident.

Evidence

I think the author is trying to make a point to payattention to the simple things in life because youm ight need them later when you're in a deeper situation. I know form expirience the author is presenting factual information.

Sober Faith By:Paton Skky

Significance

This work matters to me because since I am becoming a young women this book prepares me for the real world. In this paticular piece the author's point is to help young ladies from the age of about 13-untill you get married to help you stay pure. I chose this piece so that when the pressure is on I can stay strong and keep my promise o myself to stay pure untill I get married.I think this book can be relvent to girls who are struggling with the peer presure from other peers.

Perspective

Paton Skky was the drator of this book. Well to me the time period is undecided because this book could have been made in the 18 cntury but it would have still applied and it would have helped. If I wrote this book hypethetically speaking I would want the reader to walk away with the understanding that if you are doing ssomething to honor GOD He will always make a way.I personally think the author is clearly against women/girls having sex before they're married.

Evidence

The main point the author is trying to make is not to have sex before you get married. In this book the author gives examples on how another girl cracks under pressure and gives in. And she also makes the point tha the girl who didn't give in was proud of herself. I know the author is presenting factual informatin because I've heard of people that give in and I even know someone whogoes to my church that gave in and she had a baby at 16.

Connection

This event thathappens in the book still applies to the world to day because plenty of girls don't really care about themselves and they just give it up and they don't know hwo precious they are. I think this problem will still exsist in the future because in this generation there is so much lack of dicipline. Well I know when I get in highschool I might have to read this book again to remind myself to stay pure no matter what.

Supposition

I think the world would definately different if every single girl kept themselves untill they got married. There would probabbly be less homeless people and all kinds of stuff would change. If this took place at a middle school it wouldn't matter as much.

Friends Forever

Significance

This book teaches you a lesson.
Brittani and I tend to get in to a lot of situations are selves but we work them out, for example in the book it talked about three totally different girls who were complete enemies in elemenary and they ended up going to the same middle school and they got to know each other better and better until they became best friends then they ran into some conflicts but they settled thier differences and worked out thier problems. Kind of like me and Brittani.

Perspective

I think this book is good for friends who have problems with thier friendship so they can maybe use the same concept as the three girls in the book about friendship. If I reccomended this book to anyone I would expect them to walk away with the concept that a friendship is not all about what you want but it's about give and take.

Evidence

I think the point the author is trying to get out to the readers who read this book is to learn something form these 8th graders who learned to put aside thier differences and be friends. I know it sounds a bit corny but it really does work.

Connection

This story may not be true, I'm not sure but you can use the solution that was in the story to help with your real life problems.

Supposition

If there was one girl who didn't get along with either of the friends at all she would've missed out on a good friendship.

THE KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR

SIGNIFICANCE

This work matters to me because..... Well this book I'm not so sure because It has a moral but I don't really care. Maybe another person would read this book because of the title. I picked it up because it was just a book in my book case and I am trying to read all the books in my bookcase. A different reader besides me would probably take the lesson of You should never get so caught up in yourself that you ignore/avoid the things that are happening around you. Yeah about me not caring about the book well I was just playing and about me trying to read all the books in my bookcase...Not going to happen!

PERSPECTIVE

ROBERT FISHER IS THE ONE WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS GREAT PIECE OF WORK. THIS BOOK REALLY REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF WHAT THE ALCHEMIST WAS ABOUT. THERE'S A MAN GOING THROUGH JOURNEYS AND TRIALS TRYING TO ACHIEVE SOMETHING OF HIGH STATUS. I THINK IT WAS WRITTEN IN ABOUT 1756. JUST TO LET YOU KNOW 1756 IS MY HYPOTHESIS. I LOOK AT THIS BOOK IN SUCH A WAY THAT I PUT MYSELF IN THE KNIGHTS ARMOR TO COMPARE AND CONTRAST BETWEEN OUR TWO DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES TO SEE IF I WOULD MAKE THE SAME DECISIONS AS HIM.
EVIDENCE
FROM MY PERSPECTIVE I THINK THE AUTHOR IS TRYING TO MAE A BOLD STATEMENT THAT IF YOU MAKE WRONG DECISIONS IN THE BEGINING AND YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE YOU BAD DECISION THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO CHOSE WISELY THE REST OF YOUR JOURNEY. THIS BOOK IS NOT BASED ON FACTS BUT IF YOU YOURSELF ARE GOING ON A LONGJOURNEY AND YOU NEED SOME ADVICE I WOULD RECOMEND THIS BOOK TO YOU.

CONNETION

WELL I KNOW I CAN RELATE TO THIS BOOK BECAUSE I AM BEING FACED WITH TRIALS MYSELF AND THE MORAL I GOT FROM THIS STORY WAS TO NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT, ESPECIALLY IF YOU REALLY WANT SOMETHING. MY OPINION WILL PROBABLY EFFECT SOMEONE ELSES JUDEMENT TOWARDS THE BOOK BECAUSE THEY MIGHT NOT GET THE SAME THING OUT OF IT LIKE I DID AND THEY MIGHT NOT BE IN THE SAME SITUATION AS ME.

SUPPOSITION

IF I WERE TO CHANGE THE MAN IN THIS STORY TO A MORE HUMBLE PERSON THERE WOULD PROBABLY BE NO TRIALS OR OBSTACLES BECAUSE THE KNIGHT THOUGHT HE WAS THE GREATEST KNIGHT THERE EVER LIVED AND HE DIDN'T TAKE OFF HIS ARMOR. HE THOUGHT HE HAD TO KEEP THE ARMOR ON SO HE COULD RUSH TO ANYONE WHO NEEDED TO BE SAVED AT ANY TIME BUT INSTEAD HE WAS NEGLECTING HIS FAMILY AND SOON THE ARMOR GOT STUCK. SO HE WENT ON A JOURNEY TO FIND A MAN NAMED MARLIN TO HELP HIM TAKE OFF HIS ARMOR BECAUSE HE REALIZED HE NO LONGER NEEDED ARMOR WHAT HE WANTED WAS HIS FAMILY BACK.

Just as Long as Judy Blume

SIGNIFICANCE

THIS BOOK MATTERS TO ME BECAUSE IT IS ABOUT FRIENDSHIP AND I LIKE TO LEARN NEW THINGS ABOUT FRIENDS THAT MIGHT HELP ME WITH MY RELATION SHIP WITH MY FRIENDS. THE AUTHOR IS TRYING TO SAY FRIENDS COME ONCE IN A LIFE TIME SO WHEN THEY DO COME TREAT THEM NICELY OR THEY'LL GO AWAY FOREVER AND YOU WON'T APPRECIATE THEM UNTIL THEIR GONE. ONE REAL WORLD SITUATION IS LIKE WHEN SOMEONE IS LOOKING FOR A BEST FRIEND BUT THEY KNOW BEST FRIENDS ONLY COME EVERY BLUE MOON AND THIS SOMEONE RUNS INTO A PERSON THAT HE/SHE WOULD LEAST EXPECT AND THE PERSON THAT IS LOOKING FOR A BEST FRIEND IS MEAN TO THE OTHER PERSON AND THEN THEY MISSED A GOOD FRIENDSHIP.

PERSPECTIVE

JUDY BLUME PUBLISHED THIS BOOK. THIS BOOK WAS PUBLISHED IN 2007. I CAN'T REALLY TELL WHAT EXPERIENCES THE AUTHOR HAS BUT THE AUDIENCE SHE WAS TRYING TO GET TO WAS TEENAGE GIRLS. THIS BOOK IS NOT TOO COMPLICATED FOR A 3RD GRADER SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT.

EVIDENCE

THE AUTHOR IS TRYING TO STATE THAT YOU SHOULD TREAT YOUR FRIENDS RIGHT BECAUSE YOU WON'T APPRECIATE YOUR FRIENDS UNTIL THEIR GONE. i AM ALSO TRYING TO MAKE THE ARGUMENT THAT YOU SHOULD TREAT YOUR FRIENDS RIGHT BECAUSE YOU WON'T APPRECIATE THEM UNTIL THEIR GONE.

CONNECTION

THIS SITUATION AFFECTS US TODAY BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE ARE OBSESSED WITH HAVING FRIENDS AND THEY SOMETIMES GO CRAZY. THIS BOOK APPLIES TO MY LIFE BECAUSE I'VE HAD A SITUATION ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE IN THIS STORY. THIS PIECE WOULD ATTRACT ME TO READ AGAIN BECAUSE I'M SURE WHEN I GET OLDER I WOULD NOT WANT TO READ SUCH A CHILDISH BOOK.

SUPPOSITION

I THINK IF I APPLIED THIS CONCEPT IN REAL LIFE WITH MY OWN FRIENDS IT WOULD WORK PRETTY WELL. MAYBE SINCE IT WORKED FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BOOK IT COULD WORK FOR ME TOO. IF THIS BOOK TOOK PLACE IN HTMMA I THINK IT WOULD WORK JUST AS WELL AS IT DID IN THE BOOK. THE NAMES WOULD BE A LITTLE OFF AND SO WOULD THE GRADES BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WOULD WORK JUST FINE. THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE IN THE FRIENDSHIP CATEGORY IF EVERY FRIENDSHIP WOULD BE LIKE THE ONE IN THE BOOK.

The Bully By Paul Langan

SIGNIFICANCE:

THE PROBLEM IS THIS BOY WHO IS GETTING PICKED ON BY A BULLY.I DIDN'T REALLY CHOSE IT, MY MOM DID. YES, BECAUSE THIS STORY IS BASED ON SOMETHING IN REAL LIFE.THIS BOOK CAN BE RELEVANT TO PEOPLE WHO ARE GETTING BULLIED IN SCHOOL AND ARE TRAPPED. IT'S PROBABLY NOT RELEVANT TO THE BULLIES. MY STORY IS SIGNIFICANT TO MY AUDIENCE BECAUSE...WELL I DON'T KNOW WHAT SIGNIFICANCE MEANS.MAYBE THEY'RE IN A SITUATION INVOLVING A BULLY.IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER WHY PEOPLE SHOULD READ THIS STORY, IT HAS NO PURPOSE.A PERSON MIGHT CHOOSE THIS BOOK BECAUSE OF THE COVER.

PERSPECTIVE

PAUL LANGAN CREATED THIS WORK. IT WAS WRITTEN IN 2000.AGAINST THE ISSUE.YES. I'M LOOKING AT THE ANGLE OF HIS WRITING THAT HE DOESN'T LIKE BULLIES.

EVIDENCE

THE AUTHOR IS TRYING TO MAKE ONE SIDE OF THE STORY ON THE BOY SAYING THAT BULLIES CAN REALLY HURT SOMEONE AND THAT THEY ARE BAD.THE AUTHOR IS NOT PRESENTING FACTUAL INFORMATION HE IS JUST TRYING TO GET HIS POINT CROSS.

CONNECTION

I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE QUESTIONS.

SUPPOSITION

I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE QUESTIONS.
